Title:                            Curriculum Coach and Instructional Technology Lead

Reports To:                            Principal

 

Job Goal:

This individual provides curriculum support to teachers and students after analyzing student assessments and interventions.  The employee also serves as the instructional technology lead for the school providing professional development to staff and assisting in the implementation of system and building-level technology plans.

 

Performance Responsibilities:

 

  1. Follow all rules, policies, and procedures of Carteret County Public Schools, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to school/technology issues.
  1. Coordinates, plans, and develops frequent classroom video conferencing activities to include global classroom-to-classroom connections and "bring-in-the-expert" opportunities to provide and extend academic and career readiness.
  1. Provide feedback to teachers based on individual observation.
  1. Support change and innovation through co-teaching, collaboration and PD for Information, Media and Communication and Technology Literacy.
  1. Develops curriculum-specific interactive digital resources and activities for students and their families, extending teaching and learning beyond the traditional school day.
  1. Reviews and researches 21st Century technology standards and integrates cutting edge technologies, differentiated learning strategies and methodologies into digital content delivery.
  1. Assists in developing and providing face-to-face and online professional development for diverse learners, students, and staff.
  1. Collaborates with the school library media coordinator to provide leadership in the school’s use of instructional technology resources to enhance learning.
  1. Implements best practices related to technology use in the school program based on research, pilot programs, and state/national standards.
  1. Works with teachers and technology staff in the selection of resources that are compatible with the school technology infrastructure.
  1. Leads, in partnership with the School Media Coordinator, the Media and Technology Advisory Committee in effective decision making to promote the media and technology program.
  1. Serves as the school contact and manages time and a flexible schedule allowing for assistance in the area of technology (hardware, software, network infrastructure).
  1. Provides leadership and collaborates with the Media and Technology Advisory Committee to develop, implement, promote, and update a school instructional technology plan aligned with the system-level technology plan.
  1. Collaborates with teachers, media and technology staff, and students to evaluate and select resources addressing curricular needs and learning goals.
  1. Carries out non-instructional duties as assigned and /or as needed to ensure student safety.
  1. Such alternative to the above responsibilities that the principal may deem appropriate and acceptable

Terms of Employment:

Ten month year/Contract/FLSA Exempt

 

Starting Salary and/or Grade:

Salary based on state salary scale.

 

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Carteret County Public School Board’s policy on Evaluation of Licensed Employees.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of staff and student information.
  • Demonstrate considerable knowledge of computer technology, multiple hardware platforms, network architecture and cabling techniques.
  • Ability to organize and deliver staff development opportunities in the areas of curriculum and technology in education.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; ability to communicate with school personnel, students, and parents while complying with the confidentiality requirements in local, state, and federal policies and statutes.
  • Physical ability (able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally) and dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job, such as, walk, lift, stoop, stand, grasp, kneel, crouch and key requiring repetitive motions.
